What The Coming Weeks Bring, While We're Standing in the 46th

One week until Big Farm at Natl. Sawdust.
Two weeks from Dear Elizabeth at the Women’s Project.
Three weeks until Five Beasts at Natl. Sawdust.

Three very different worlds in three weeks
Why not see all three?

Prog Rock, Theater, and whatever Five Beasts might be called
(a dance/theater/opera/jazz improvisation?)

Big Farm is an all star band (Steve Mackey, Jason Treuting,  Lek Darger – mystery bass player)  We do about one gig a year.  This is it.

Dear Elizabeth by Sarah Ruhl. Beautiful play about the relationship between Robert Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop. I’m acting with my wife Ellen McLaughlin.

This happens as rarely as a Big Farm concert.

Five Beasts -  hardly any words at all in this one.  A cross between Butoh and Burlesque and Baroque opera.  All the best B’s and beasts.  We premiered this in France.  They loved it there.  Got kissed on both cheeks by complete strangers.

This is going to be about as eclectic a year as I’ve had.  I’d love to have you all along for the whole ride.  Think of them as episodes in one of the strangest performing careers in modern history.
