ABOUT

Rinde Eckert, the alchemical musician and theatre-maker, presents his most personal project to date: “The Natural World”, an album that ranges far and wide across Eckert’s expansive musical life — including a freshly customized version of “Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair”, the Anglo-American folk classic that served as early inspiration for him. There are moving lyrics of love and dreams alongside several songs of pure vocalise, where words fall away to let the melody convey deep emotion directly. In addition to singing these songs, Eckert also accompanies himself on a wide range of instruments from several different continents. With its contemplative yet communicative beauty, “The Natural World” feels like an offering of empathy in polarized times.
